 Family traditions

Post by Happiness »

Dear friends! Could you tell me about the traditions in your families? :)
As for my family, we try to pray and have supper together, go to church on holidays, in spring, summer and autumn we often make picnics in the park or go fishing. We also like to have dinner with a candle, like in a restaurant. On Christmas and New Year we prepare surprises for each other and put them under a new-year-tree. We also always congratulate each other at 00:00 (on birthday, New Year, Easter etc.). :friends:

Well, now it's the time of Advent and I'd like to tell you a few words about my family's Advent and Christmas traditions.
We always make or buy a special Advent calendar-there are 40 little boxes where we put sweets in this calendar-1 box is oriented for 1 day of Advent.
We always candle the lights on Advent garland. There 5 candles on this garland-and we light 1 candle on the first Sunday of Advent,2-on the second and so on.
And,of course,we always go to the church on Christmas.

John
thanks for interesting ideas! :thanks:

our family is only 3 years old, so we don't have many traditions yet. Of course we go to Church every Sunday. and then we do different things. Sunday is our family day, the only day my husband is able to spend with us. Also me and my husband try to find some time for us at least once a week. Usually he takes me out for a dinner or for a walk. I enjoy this time so much as it helps me to see that we are still on the same page with our relationship. :)

Wow! It's really great to see such families where a couple tries to keep their warm relations like before marriage and even better! I wish your family happiness and love in our Lord Jesus Christ! :) :friends:

Thanks Olya, same to you! Our philosophy is that you have to work on your relationship constantly and our family means a lot for us. Also i feel left out without spending some time together with my husband..

Saint Paul creates a fantastic picture on how men and women relationship should be in a Christian family.
