Re: Our favorite books
I am going to start first. I like C.S.Lewis "The Chronicles of Narnia", "The Screwtape Letters". I would definitely recommend "Father Arseny" especially for people who just turned to Church, this book has a lot of answers to different questions. I like also Flannery O'Connor's "Revelation". Harper Lee "To Kill a Mockingbird" is amazing.

Re: Our favorite books
There are so many books I love it is hard to know where to start. I like everything you mention, except I haven't read that particular book by Flannery O'Connor. I think Fr Arseny is really wonderful--I read it when I had recently converted to Orthodoxy and loved it so much. I have it in Russian now too, but it is hard for me to read--there is a lot of vocabulary I don't know.
I also like A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. So many other things, but it's hard to think of what I would list as a favorite. I really enjoy books by L.M. Montgomery (she wrote Anne of Green Gables). I should think which other books to list...

Re: Our favorite books
Many years ago I have read the book of American writer Dzheroma Salinger " The Catcher in the Rye". And till now this one of my most favourite books. And when I re-read it once, I have got acquainted with my future husband . I have been surprised. He was very similar to the protagonist. The same kind, fair and pure person.

Matusya, how old is your youngest one?I like Shmelev a lot. His books are very vivid and informative. And also, they are very touching. It feels that he truly loves Russia.

Re: Our favorite books
It is difficult to say what the most. And then, in taste and color - no companion. Some people like science fiction, other stories about nature, there are people who read only the Orthodox literature, and nothing more, and some just for reading novels. I like to read everything.
Thank God for all and for ever!

Re: Our favorite books
I tried listening to audio books. It was interesting experience. I had a feeling that somebody is telling me a story as if i was a child.. I was able to knit and to listen to the book at the same time.
