Getting drunk

I thought that getting drunk was not only a sin but a fairly serious sin. Even so, there are a number of Orthodox on YouTube who sometimes get drunk and it doesn't seem to worry them.

Am I perhaps wrong that getting drunk is a serious sin? Is the serious sin perhaps only alcoholism and not getting drunk occasionally?

I think it is. I come from a family that is dependent upon substances, and I have an illness. I don't get drunk, but I am on medications.

Yes you are right, it is a serious sin.
