Hi, I just joined this forum, and this is my first post. I recently came across an antique liturgical item from the Imperial Russia era, and I was wondering if anyone knew what this is? I've asked around, but haven't been able to get a definitive answer. I know it's Russian, because it has Moscow silver hallmarks that date it to the 1870s.
I've been told that it's a censer, but also that it could be a lampada or icon lamp. I've attached the images below. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Does anyone know what this liturgical item is?

Thank you for the reply! I was originally thinking censer, too, but I didn't see any holes on the side or in the lid, to let the smoke out. Is it okay for a kadilo to not have holes?

Greetings,
Forgive the contradiction, but I believe this to be a lampada. The larger portion would contain the oil. Also, there are no bells on it as would be typical of a censer.
