Oh, girls...
Matusya:How did your life go from here?
After that story I was to study at the university 2 years more to graduate. I had 5 friends: 2 boys and 3 girls, and we were 6 together everywhere.
But girls began trying hard to make me not going to the temple (instead of temple they constantly offered me to go to the picnic or to the library on Sunday mornings :D ). They concedered me to become crazy because of the Church, and were trying to "save" me... :pardon:
But they didn't manage :pardon: . I suggested picnics at the Sunday afternoon, and library on Saturday... and I was concidered more and more crazy  Besides I went to the monastery on my holidays to pray and to work. Finally, my girls got angry :x and didn't want to communicate with me any more
By the way, boys proved to be not so strict :) , though they both were not believers :pardon:
They didn't allow me to feel outcast and were with me everywhere: on lectures, at the library, on evening walks and even at the Easter night worship...
I can hardly realize the girls' feelings!! :o :D
When studying last year, I met my future husband :-)
My parents didn't want me to marry him because of his being an Orthodox believer - so, "unnormal"... :(

...In general, there were many trials; but God is merciful, and we are married for 10 years and have nice children :-)

And meeting some trouble in my life every time I never had any doubt that God lead me on the proper way...

Mrs. Sunflower, What about your parents now. Did they change their attitude towards your husband? Are you still in touch with your friends (boys)? Thank you for the interesting story :thanks:

My parents little by little became more patient :) to our faith, especially after the grandchildren's borning. They saw us hiking in the mountains, swimming in the sea, watching films... thouh they thought we should be just bending knees with smashing our foreheads :pardon:
Recently my mother entered the room where we were praying with children before going to sleep. She even was standing near us! :-)
Serafima:Are you still in touch with your friends (boys)?
No, unfortunately :sorry: Life whirled us after graduating the university... But now, after 11 years, I often remember my friends with interest and going to find them.

:Rose: :Rose: :Rose:
Friends, thank you for warm reviews about my story. Perhaps someone else wants to tell us about his way to Orthodoxy...

Were you lucky enough to be born in a religious family?

Dear Serafima! I am so happy to see you on the forum after a long time of absence :Rose: !
As for my parentage, I was born in a religious family with deep orthodox roots. At least 5 of my grandfathers served as priests and one of them is now officially canonized as the new martyr by Russian Orthodox church.

New Martyrs, pray God for us!
That is so impressive. i can't even find words. you are so lucky to be born in such a family, you are so lucky to be with God for all your life. Are you a priest yourself? I am sorry if that's a wrong question. My husband is studying in the Jordanville seminary.
